NREP 8 Year Anniversary Today

As you know we decided to take a little break for the 4th of July holiday.  I (Frank) did however want to make mention that today marks the 8 year anniversary of our show.  I started this whole mess with one little video done for my loan officers on July 2, 2007.  2007 was a tough year and all my guys were struggling to make it.  I stumbled on video and made one to try and motivate them to do the things that are proven to work no matter what the market says.  After I sent it out, I knew I was on to something and I continued to do it every day since then.  You can see that first video below.  It may be the dumbest thing you’ve ever watched.

I won’t get into the details of our journey, but I will remind you that you can click on “Our History” above to get a snap shot of how this all came together.  But I would like to say a couple things.  Our journey hasn’t been all fun and games, we’ve been through some really tough times, and our journey is far from over.  This one little video launched a series of life changing events for me and Brian that continue even to this day.  Not all ideas will blossom into something notable, but some will.  The only way to find out is by putting the hours in and making your adjustments along the way.  I think a lot of us quit really good ideas because we’re just too damn impatient.  So if you’re working something that feels like it’s a good idea, be sure to give it a few years of relentless persistence before you kill it.
It’s been a long strange trip for us and who knows how much longer it will continue?  I believe the NREP is a show that can stick around within the mortgage and real estate industry for decades to come.  Hopefully we will be able to turn the reigns over to someone else in the next few years, and that someone can keep the show alive, maybe even make it bigger and better.  Again, who knows, we’ll have to see how it all plays out.
Well, I hope you get a kick out of our ridiculous little first video, and I hope it inspires you.  I mean if a couple of schmucks from Vacaville California can build what’s considered by many to be a staple in the mortgage and real estate industry from something as silly as this, who knows what you guys can do!
